Warren has tried many cases throughout the country. He combines this practical experience with a direct “how to do it” teaching style.
Warren is the former chairman and senior trial partner of a large multi-state litigation firm. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. His cases have ranged from antitrust to toxic tort, and he has tried numerous cases to verdict on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants. He has defended multi-national chemical and drug companies in product liability cases involving millions of dollars and served as national coordinating counsel in complex product liability and construction litigation cases. On behalf of plaintiffs, Warren has tried serious personal injury cases, and anti-trust and environmental matters.
Warren has also tried major securities fraud and employment discrimination cases on behalf of corporations and individuals.
His appellate experience includes oral arguments before the United States Courts of Appeal for the Second, Fifth, Seventh, Ninth and Tenth Circuits and before the Court of Appeals of the State of New York. He has also argued cases before appellate courts in the states of New York, Illinois, Ohio and Massachusetts.
During his time in private practice, Warren taught extensively at the advanced programs of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy and in advocacy programs in Oxford, England. He has lectured on trial advocacy at a number of law schools, including Cornell Law School, Northwestern Law School, and the University of Texas Law School, and before bar associations in New York, Illinois and Kentucky. He served as coordinator of advocacy training at his law firm.
At Trial Run, Warren specializes in advocacy training for trials including trial witness preparation, jury focus groups, direct and cross examination, speeches to the court and jury, and oral argument of motions and appeals. Warren’s presentations also include alternative dispute resolution, arbitration and mediation. He frequently consults with corporations and law firms on trial strategy and preparedness. He is the co-author of two Trial Run Inc. handbooks — Federal Rules of Evidence with Comments, and Jury Speeches.
He is admitted to practice before The Supreme Court of the United States, all Illinois courts, and various Federal District Courts and Circuit Courts of Appeal. He has been admitted pro hac vice for trials in many state courts.
